Pitzer College is actively employing an antisemitic professor

I was disturbed to learn Pitzer College is actively employing an antisemitic professor. Professor Daniel Segal uses his social media platforms and his classroom to spread antisemitic libel against the Jewish people.

A few examples include:

- Spearhead efforts to have Pitzer College suspend its study abroad program with the University of Haifa in Israel. Thankfully, former President Oliver blocked these efforts.

- Openly calls for the boycott of Israeli products as an attempt to destroy Israel’s economy through antisemitic endeavors.

- In 2021, Segal falsely compares Israel’s distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine to the Holocaust. Despite these claims, All of Israel’s citizens, including Arabs and Palestinians, were provided equal and free access to the vaccine.

- He openly supports terrorists, including the first female hijacker, Leila Khaled. Khaled claims the intifada was not successful because it was not violent enough. She encourages the use of children in terror activities.

- Segal denies Jewish people the right to self-determination.

If Professor Segal’s hatred is this strong on social media, I fear for any Jewish students at Pitzer College that may be subjected to this treatment in the classroom.

I trust such hate will not be tolerated by your administration and sincerely hope Pitzer College will start an investigation into the grotesque hatred at the hands of one of your professors.
